Pathway Counselling is a vital part of PATH, the county's leading homelessness charity. We provide free mental health counselling and support in Pembrokeshire as part of PATH’s wrap-around service.
PATH - Pembrokeshire Action for the Homeless, is a homelessness charity who have been developing services for over 40 years to help those at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. PATH deals with issues regarding housing, welfare benefits, rough sleeping and more.
As counsellors, we recognise that homelessness can be rooted in various underlying issues. Stress, depression, anxiety, grief, domestic violence, family breakdown, PTSD, among others, are factors that can create an environment where homelessness becomes a tangible threat. That's why our commitment is to support people throughout Pembrokeshire in cultivating confidence, resilience, and a personal mental health toolkit.

This scheme allows access to accommodation in the private rented sector through the provision of a ‘damage only’ bond guarantee up to a maximum agreed level.
All applicants will be interviewed and assessed before a bond can be considered for our Adult Bond Certificate Scheme.
If you are unsuccessful, other bond schemes are available from the Local Authority.

We believe that we can play a pivotal role in early prevention of the social and economic factors that lead to homelessness. Through this understanding we want to inspire people to realise their role in creating a more ethical and caring society that supports and provides service to others.
We are an active organisation in tackling homelessness - working in partnership with Government, local authorities, the private sector, churches and other voluntary agencies. Together we achieve the best possible outcome for people experiencing homelessness. Working through an integrated approach we believe in offering the support, education, and skills so that service users can be the best they can be. We believe in equality and opportunity for all, so that every individual can live a life that is both fulfilling and rewarding.

Volunteering can be a truly rewarding experience and there are many ways you can become involved:
- Fundraising.
- Company partnerships.
- Taking up one of our volunteer roles.
- Work with us to share your story and inspire others.
- Join our group sessions and support us in developing new workshops.
- Share our social media posts.
Pathway Counselling has developed a student placement academy, that supports trainee counsellors to complete their supervised hours and achieve their qualification.
To join our team, all trainees will need to complete their ‘Fitness to Practice’ certificates, enabling them to take on regulated client work. Trainees will need to be fully insured student members of the BACP, following the Ethical Framework for counselling work. In return, we offer our student counsellors the following:
- An extensive range of clients with various presenting issues.
- Access to CPD, workshops, resources, and organisational wellbeing days.
- A supportive counselling team of various modalities & experience
- Mentorship – to include periodic reviews.
- Monthly guided peer support.
- Contribution towards supervision costs.
- The opportunity to become involved in the writing and delivery of in-house training.
- An office building with purpose-designed counselling rooms.
- The opportunity to work with clients online, in person, and over the telephone.
