Trauma Toolkit Workshop (10 Week Course)

A 10-week course to learn about what trauma is and explore diverse ways to cope with its impact. Two sessions per day are split between women and men.

This is not a processing space, we will not be sharing our stories here, instead it is a chance to try out practical techniques, skills and learn ideas around managing the impact of trauma in our lives.

Each session will include a chance to experiment and practice different grounding techniques and activities where you will be invited to develop your own regulation/stabilization tools.

Optional ideas will be suggested to try them out at home in between sessions.

There will be a brief tea break at each workshop. You may find it useful to bring along a notebook.

  • Grounding practices.
  • What is Trauma and how does it affect us?
  • The link between your body and brain.
  • Finding ways to be in the here and now – practices.
  • Managing flashbacks – write your own flashback protocol.
  • Working with nightmares.
  • Trauma and Self-care – plan.
  • Managing emotions – practical tips.
  • Thinking habits, anxiety, and panic.
  • Practicing mindfulness.
  • Building boundaries and assertiveness.
  • Sleep skills – ideas for improving your sleep.
  • Alright online? – Thinking about trauma and your social online spaces.
